SecoTest Cross Hatch Cutter for ISO 2409 and ...

Exceptionally strong and handy cross hatch cutter made on the lines of DIN EN ISO 2409 and ASTM D3359-02 to conduct cross cut tests. The SecoTest is used for the assessment of adhesiveness of single or multiple coatings (varnishes, synthetic materials, etc.) on hard (steel) and soft (wood) substrates.

The cross cut testers of the SecoTest series consist of a sturdy holder for the six-edge multi cutting blade and a rotatable non-slip grip, which prevents the multi cutting blade from canting.

To ensure that this procedure is repeatable, put the test object through a suitable conditioning process (see DIN EN ISO 2409, section 6); while testing at construction sites make a note of the ambient conditions in the test report.

The procedure defined by ISO 4642 can be employed to measure adhesiveness.

The Positest AT-A Automatic Adhesion Tester measures the force required to pull a specified test area of coating away from a substrate using hydraulic pressure. An electronically controlled hydraulic pump automatically applies smooth and continuous pull-off pressure. The pump greatly reduces user effort and the risk of influencing the pulling process.
The AT-A’s built-in rechargeable battery performs over 200 tests per charge. The supplied AC adapter / charger allows you to continue testing with AC power while the battery recharges.

The AT-A is features an environmentally sealed enclosure. It is weatherproof, dustproof and shockproof. Meeting or exceeding IP65 rating.

ATA Self-Alignment Feature

Unequal pulling force during testing caused by uneven adhesive bond lines and coating surfaces can result in random, unexplainable readings. To obtain more repeatable and meaningful adhesion measurements, it is imperative that the pulling force applied to the test dolly is uniformly distributed over the surface being tested.

Both the PosiTest AT-M manual and PosiTest AT-A automatic models compensate for misalignment. The self-aligning, quick-coupling actuator and spherical articulating dolly head enable uniform distribution of the pulling force over the surface being tested, preventing a one-sided pull-off.

Recording the Nature of the Fracture

Upon completion of a pull-off test, the dolly and coated surface should be examined. In addition to pull-off force, many National and International standards such as ASTM D4541 and ISO 4624 require the nature of the fracture to be recorded.

Cohesive fracture: fracture occurs within a coating layer (same coating on dolly face and coated surface).
Adhesive fracture: fracture occurs at the interface between layers (coating on dolly face differs from surface).
Glue failure: visible separation of the glue from itself, the coating or dolly (no coating visible on the dolly face).

The cohesive and adhesive fracture visual analysis can be recorded using the PosiTest AT-A’s keypad or touch screen display. Alternatively, the information can be reported using the PosiTector App.

Fractures are visually estimated and recorded as a percent of each. The two layer example below illustrates a cohesive fracture within coating layer 1 and layer 2 (visually estimated at 50% each). Recorded results are included in reports.

The Compound Plus (CP) wireless dynamometer is designed for weighing and dynamic load monitoring in a wide range of applications. All Compound Plus Dynamometers are supplied with 2.4GHz Wireless Output for connection to the optional battery-powered SW-HHP Handheld Display or INSIGHT Multiple Wireless Loadcell Software. There is also a version “-BLE” providing a Bluetooth Output for connection to the no-cost HHP App for Apple and Android Phones and Tablets.

The Compound Plus (CP) wireless dynamometer is the same as a Radiolink Plus but supplied without the SW-HHP Hand-Held Indicator.

The CP is constructed of high-quality aircraft-grade aluminum and features an advanced internal design structure. The design not only provides an unrivaled strength to weight ratio but also allows the use of a separate internal sealed enclosure providing the load cell’s electronic components with IP67 environmental protection even with the battery cover plate missing, making this industry-leading dynamometer even more suitable for use in the harshest environments.

When supplied with the 2.4GHz wireless output the CP featured industry-leading wireless technology and range, has an update rate of 3Hz and can be easily configured to run at industry-leading speeds of up to 200Hz. The app will also allow the operator to log data versus time, or on events such as over or underload. An adjustable alarm will alert the operator on their smartphone if any overload is occurring.

Designed for measurement of both Static and Dynamic Loads the Compound Plus can also be used in combination with our range of high-speed wireless data logging software allowing for simultaneous control, display and real-time data logging of up to 100 Straightpoint telemetry Load Cells. A .csv file format is used for data logging and opens in MS Excel allowing the easy visual presentation of the logged data and simple test certificate generation.

The Compound Plus utilizes easily sourced AA alkaline batteries. Advanced circuitry extends battery life and the use of easily sourced alkaline batteries eliminates issues associated with rechargeable battery pack charging, failure, and replacement.

A full array of wireless accessories are also available including signal boosters, LED wireless scoreboards and base stations with analog (4-20mA, 0-10v, 0-5v) or digital (RS232/485, Modbus RTU, and ASCII serial communications protocol) outputs.

The CP Compound Plus Dynamometer Loadcells are supplied without the SW-HHP Wireless Hand-Held Indicator or Software. Both are available for purchase as an option.

The Compund Plus is supplied as a complete kit including the dynamometer, 4x AA batteries, RFID tag, calibration certificate, and instruction manual. Models up to 35T/77,000lbs are supplied in foam fitted carrying cases. Larger capacities are supplied in an approved shipping crate.

Our EDjunior dynamometer is designed to measure inline force / tension in a wide range of industrial applications. The backlit displays shows real-time and peak forces in lbf, kgf and Newtons measuring units.
Readings are displayed with a resolution of 1 part in 1000 to ensure the level of readability required for critical lifting applications.

Heavy cumbersome tools make tough jobs even harder. Through the use of aircraft quality materials, we have made the EDjunior an easy-to-position, highly mobile instrument with exceptional strength. It offer an impressive factor of safety at all capacities.

Power is supplied by two C-cell batteries that are easily accessible through a side loading port. Battery replacement, however, is a rare event. With the EDjunior’s low power consumption, typical battery life is over 400 hours.

With its NEMA4/IP55 design, the EDjunior is at home in virtually any environment and ideally-suited to exterior job-site applications as well as in-plant use.

NIST Traceable The EDjr comes with a NIST traceable calibration certificate.
