The Gefen FM500 DVI Fiber Optic Extender allows DVI signal to be extended up to 5000 feet (1.5 km) away. This extender is the ideal for installations where a DVI source and display are located apart from each other in an interference-prone operating environment. Two strands of LC-terminated fiber optic cable provides maximum extension and provides excellent protection from electromagnetic interference (EMI), and preserving signal integrity. The automatic EDID programming feature enables quick and correct synchronization of the video source to the display without any manual configuration needed. This allows rapid recovery of picture upon display power up or when used in conjunction with Switchers and Matrixes.

The Gefen DVI fiber optic pigtail module extender with HDCP support extends DVI up to 3300 feet (1000 meters) using single-strand 50/125 um multimode (OM2/OM3) SC-terminated fiber optic cable. Optical signal transmission provides galvanic isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference compared to similar copper based extension modules. The pigtail design of the Sender and Receiver modules relieves stress and clutter on the source and display connector panels. Detachable DVI optical extender, M1-3R2VI-DU is a Dual-link box type product enabling to transmit two (2) TMDS signals with uncompressed WQXGA (2560×1600) 60Hz DVI up to 2,000m (6560feet) over a pair of duplex single-mode fibers and 500m (1640feet) over a pair of multi-mode fibers with LC terminated connector.

For better installation and flexibility, it features patent pending Self-EDID management, reading and restoring of display information, by just plugging transmitter module to the display.
