<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Valentine of Love and Combat</strong></h3>

<p>On February 14, 2021, the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra’s special performance, the &#8220;Valentine of Love and Combat: a symphony for the two&#8221;, was held at Sumida Triphony Hall. This concert was planned by Yamaha Corporation, which carries out the &#8220;Project to Enhance the Profitability of Culture and Arts&#8221; advocated by Agency for Cultural Affairs, and online live distribution was conducted under the concept of &#8220;multi-perspective switching + high-resolution live distribution.&#8221; Astrodesign had cooperated with Korg Inc., Internet Initiative Japan Inc., and Nekojarashi Inc., to present new attempts to shoot and distribute live concerts.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Labor saving for shooting 8K cameras</strong></h3>

<p>At the venue, the number of staffs involved in the shooting was reduced as much as possible. One fixed-point 8K camera projecting the entire stage from the audience seat, and one 4K camera on the stage for shooting the conductor were installed. Two cameras were remotely controlled from the editorial booth.<br />
Video shot from the front by 8K camera was segmented in HD using a Tamazone Workstation. Beautiful video image can be segmented in real time without deteriorating the image when zooming. We sent out total of 4 perspectives by switching over the following 5 perspectives: (i) a bird-eye view of the stage, (ii) 3 segmented images, and (iii) HD camera on the conductor. This is a system that can be operated by one staff member at minimum, and without the need of a cameraman at audience seat.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Delivering Video and Audio with High Quality</strong></h3>

<p>The distribution technology &#8220;Lumiere&#8221; by Nekojarashi Inc. was used for the video distribution. A four-screen composite of HD images was distributed in the form of 4K, and viewers were able to access from their own devices, such as PCs, tablets, and smartphones, and to select their preferred viewpoints. We believe that the needs of viewers to freely select images in line with own preferences, rather than a fixed view, will continue to rise.<br />
The &#8220;Live Extreme&#8221; of Korg Inc. was used with audio data. With its uncompressed audio coding technology, we could distribute complex music tones of multi-instrumented composition in a quality close to the original sound.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Background</strong></h3>

<p>The National Institute of Informatics (NII) of the Research Organization of Information and Systems is the only academic research institute in Japan with the mission of &#8220;creating future value&#8221; in the new academic field of informatics. As an Inter-University Research Institution, NII has built and operates the Science Information NETwork (SINET), providing advanced network services to universities and research institutes, etc. On April 1, 2022, SINET6 will be put into operation, connecting the NII sites at a maximum SINET6 will be operational on April 1, 2022, enabling broadband network connections of up to 400 Gbps between sites.</p>
<p>One way to demonstrate the usefulness of a broadband network such as SINET6 is through the real-time transmission of uncompressed 8K video (approx. 48 Gbps), which has a large amount of data and is visually easy to understand. In this report, we introduce an example of 8K video transmission demonstration at the SINET6 opening ceremony held in May 2022.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>SINET6 Opening Ceremony</strong></h3>
<div class="tablewrapinfo4">
<p>The SINET6 opening ceremony was held on May 30, 2022, the first day of the NII Academic Information Infrastructure Open Forum 2022.</p>
<p>SINET6 is an academic information network constructed and operated by the NII. SINET6 is an upgraded version of SINET5, with a nationwide 400Gbps ultra-high-speed network, support for mobile networks such as 5G, and enhanced international connectivity, etc. It will not only support increasing communication volume, the broad development of IoT-related research, and expanding international collaborative research, but will also serve as the foundation for the data-driven society of the future. It will also serve as a foundation for the data-driven society of the future.</p>
<p>The ceremony included speeches by the concerned parties, an opening ceremony, as well as lectures and an appreciation ceremony related to SINET6.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Transmission of 8K images from Okinawa to Tokyo</strong></h3>

<p>Before and after the SINET6 opening ceremony, 8K video transmission was performed, connecting the Ginoza DC (data center) in Okinawa to the Academic Center in Tokyo, which houses the NII, via the SINET6 circuit network. Live 8K video from the Ginoza DC and 8K content reproduced from the Ginoza DC were transmitted to the Hitotsubashi Auditorium, the venue for the opening ceremony, and projected onto a 400-inch screen installed in the auditorium using an 8K projector.</p>

<p>In addition to the view of the Okinawan ocean from the Ginoza DC, ceremony participants were able to view 8K 3D images played back from an 8K recorder brought into the Ginoza DC and displayed in the Hitotsubashi Auditorium. The projector was also used for video presentation and display of materials during the ceremony.</p>

<p>At Ginoza DC, the CCU was installed at a location extended approximately 200m from the outdoor camera head AB-4830 using optical transmission equipment OT-5902/OR-5903.</p>
<p>A video switcher was used to switch between the camera&#8217;s live output and 8K content played back on the 8K SSD recorder HR-7518-A.</p>
<p>The output from the video switcher was converted to an ST 2110 compliant signal using the IG-5114 8K IP gateway for IP transmission, and the video received at the Hitotsubashi Auditorium side was displayed on the INSIGHT Laser 37000 8K projector.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Background</strong></h3>
<p>Since 2020, numerous spectator-less matches have been held due to the impact of the new coronavirus. Many people may have been frustrated by the psychological impact on the athletes of games without spectators. I believe that it is the common wish of sports teams and stadium operators to provide spectators who return to their venues with a more enjoyable, safe, and comfortable experience. In this issue, we would like to introduce a demonstration conducted with the aim of improving the sports spectator experience.</p>

<h3 class="section_title"><strong>Demonstration at Vantelin Dome Nagoya</strong></h3>

<p>In early October 2021, at an official game between the Chunichi Dragons and the Hiroshima Toyo Carp held at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya, we conducted a demonstration of our marketing and security platform &#8220;ASCA&#8221; with Casley Holdings,Inc. and Abit Co. Ltd.</p>

<p>Astrodesign&#8217;s 8K camcorder was used to capture 8K video of the entire field from a bird&#8217;s eye view behind the back net.<br />
The captured images were checked on an indoor 8K monitor and transmitted at high speed and low latency via ABIT&#8217;s local 5G network.<br />
In addition, data analysis was performed using CASLEY&#8217;s high-speed technology and AI.<br />
Recognition accuracy that could not be captured with a conventional HD/4K video or transmission over 4GLTE was achieved.</p>

<p>We confirmed that various solutions can be realized starting from video images such as the above.</p>

<p>It is a new service business model by Astrodesign, Casley Holdings,Inc., and AIC-VISION Corporation, utilizing advanced technologies such as 8K video equipment + 5G + AI analysis platform, etc. The project has been selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency as a &#8220;Business Support Project for Innovative Services in 2048,&#8221; and aims to become a highly competitive business in the future as a service that combines innovative equipment and business models that have never been seen before. In the future, we intend to automate the system and expand the service to the entertainment field and commercial facilities, in addition to sports.</p>

<li>A new method for expressing the color gamut of a display devised by NHK Science &amp; Technical Research Laboratories.</li>
<li>Gamut Rings was adopted as an international standard by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in January 2021, by the International Committee for Display Metrology (ICDM) in July 2021, and by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) in November 2021.</li>
<li>The color gamut of a display can be correctly represented by two-dimensional projection of the color gamut 3D.</li>
<li>It is expected to be useful in display design and performance evaluation, as well as in performance comparison and selection of various displays and TVs.</li>
